Rock Candy took over a year to get off the ground. It took, and takes a lot of time and energy to produce the show. When I started the show in March 1995, I only had one other person helping me with the production of the show and that was my son. It is still pretty much the same with the exception of a couple others that lend an occasional hand on our bigger productions. If you read the credits at the end of the show, you see many names in what seems like a fairly large production crew. Everything listed is some part of the production that needs to be attended to, worked on, and or planned out in order to produce the show. Since the show is on Public Access television, every aspect of the shows production is done on a volunteer basis. To find even a couple individuals to volunteer their time to any sort of production is hard to do. Since 95% of the production work is handled and done by myself, I did not want to see my name over and over on the credits. I did want the viewing audience to see all or most of the aspects that are needed to produce and complete a show. In order to do that, I created a fictitious production crew with the exception of a few individuals. I gathered the names of that crew from characters played in movies by my two favorite actors, James Cagney and Harrison Ford and by a woman that (in my opinion) is one of the most beautiful acctress' around, Meg Ryan. The fictitious crew consists of:Director: Cody Jarrett (James Cagney's character in White Heat) Writer: Rocky Sullivan (James Cagney's character in Angels With Dirty Faces) Set Designer: Martin Snyder (James Cagney's character in Love Me or Leave Me) Lighting: Ralph Cotter (James Cagney's character in Kiss Tomorrow Goodbye) Sound: Johnny Cave (James Cagney's character in Great Guy) Additional Music: Ty Neptune (Stage name I created) Make-Up: Sally Albright (Meg Ryan's character in "When Harry Met Sally") P.S.A. Coordinator: Allie Fox (Harrison Ford's character in "The Mosquito Coast") Opening Sequences By: Eddie Bartlett (James Cagney's character in The Roaring Twenties) Edited By: Jack Ryan (Harrison Ford's character in "Patriot Games") Every one of those jobs along with many others are handled by myself. It can be a lot of work at times, but knowing that so many people like and enjoy what I do makes it all worth it. Below is a list of individuals that have at some point volunteered to help with the production of Rock Candy.
