2008 Rocks!

2008 is looking to bee a very busy one for us. There are so many great shows coming to Northern California this year and we hope to cover several of them. So many viewers continue to tell me how much they love the show. It's that feedback that helps drive me, well that and my love for the music and bands we feature.

I will keep everyone posted as we secure interviews and let you know when to expect new episodes. Thanks to all the viewers that keep in touch, stop me on the street or at concerts, and write. I appreciate all of your suppost!

Until next time, Keep Rockin'!

2007 Year End Review

2007 is coming to and end and this year was the slowest year ever for us. Our local access station moved from it's location on South Orchard Ave. here in Vacaville where it had been since it's inception back in the late 1980's.

The move resulted in a major change in the studio workings. I left from running the station a few years ago when the politics got to be too much. A couple of the producers that took over worked and got funding to take the studio from a very out dated facility to a updated modern studio. That change resulted in all programming that airs converted from VHS to DVD. The update was great for all producers and viewers, but it put a damper on Rock Candy since all of our shows up to that point were produced on VHS. In order to continue running old episodes in between the new, it means that I have to convert all the shows over to DVD. A process I have slowly been trying to keep up on. On the shows I have converted, I removed opening PSA's and all sponsor credits since most sponsors on our old episodes no longer exist. This also helps the show move along a bit better.

I hope to have time to get all the old episodes converted as well as getting them archived. This will also be the first year since 1998/1999 that we have not aired one of our New Year's Eve Specials on New Year's Eve.

I did get the chance to take in a few concerts this year, although not as many as I would have liked to see. The highlights would have to be Poison and Ratt at the Salinas Event Center. Alice Cooper at Konocti was another awesome show. I also enjoyed Britny Fox with the Bullet Boys at the Hard Rock in Scaramento. Britny Fox was great and they even played my favorite song "Dream On" which sounded great and kicked ass.

Unfortunately I had to miss KISS in Los Angeles, as well as Twisted Sister at the House of Blues in Hollywood due to a busy work schedule. I passsed on Van Halen even though I had always wanted to see them with Dave, but without Michael, it just wasn't a "Reunuion" to me.

This year we lost some great musicians. Most are aware of Quiet Riot front man Kevin DuBrow's passing. The biggest losses in my eyes were Mark Norton (a.k.a. Mark St. John) former KISS guitarist on the Animalize album. Mark was the only member to ever be in KISS that I never had the privlidge of meeting. Another was the loss of the voice of Boston, Brad Delp. I had been hoping Boston would hit the road again soon before Brad's passing. Though I never had the privlidge of meeting Brad, he seemed like a great guy and always kicked some serious ass every time I saw Boston in concert.

Our MySpace page continues to grow and has become more popular then our long standing RockCandyOnline website.

As we close 2007 I look forward to a busy 2008. I wish all of you who read this a Happy and Safe Holiday Season.

Until next year, Keep Rockin'!
