Dean joined the group for their first appearance in 1976. The spot of Ace Frehley was originally held by Jack Standish, but when Jack wouldn't put in the 50¢ each member was contributing for their make-up, Dean asked if he could be in the group if he put up 50¢. Dean became a member of the inaugural appearance, but was dropped a year later when he didn't look enough like Paul Stanley, the position he would be filling when everyone changed characters.

Troy lost contact with Dean in the late 1970's so no current photo or additional information is available.
