What is your best memory of
being in the group?
Rolling up to a school in that limo and getting
out with everyone just wondering what was going
on. We made quite a splash. When we went to the
hospital that made it real. Just being able to
put a smile on those kids faces was a very nice
feeling.
What other memories,
stories, or comments do you want to share or make
about the group or members?
Charles and I spent a lot of time at the San Jose
Flea Market that summer buying things for our
outfits, it was strange trying on long black wigs
while trying to be a tough rocker dude, we were
16 remember.
When we were at Maloney Elementary School we had
one hot mother that wanted the group to go home
with her, we were all of 16 so we wanted to, but
Troy had a schedule to keep. What were you thinking?
You played Paul in 1983.
Who was your favorite member of the band?
The Demon. Of course Gene Simmons was my favorite;
the fire breathing, blood spewing bassist has
always been the front man of the group. After
that my favorite is appropriately the only other
original member Paul Stanley.
How did you feel about
dressing up at the time?
Charles mentioned it to me about dressing up as
KISS and I thought it would be a lot of fun. I
actually went to the December 1978 show (your,
Troy's) the group had put on and had loved it.
Would you change anything
about your time/experience in the group?
Other than gone home with the hot mom?
Is there anything else you wish
the group could have done (concerts, television,
another appearance, etc.) while you were in the
group?
I thought what we did was great. The reaction
we got from the kids at the local schools and
hospital, the fun we had cruising the limo between
"appearances" and winning the costume
contest at Fat Fanny's. The hard work, most of
it Troy's, was well worth it.
Do you have your old
costume?
I had my old costume in a box in my parents garage
until they sold their house in 1995 and they got
rid of it.
Have you ever dressed
up as a member of KISS since leaving the group?
No
Would you ever dress
up like a member of KISS again?
Only after going to Charles's KISS Impersonators
workout program.
Any final words or thoughts?
I still have a copy of the Argus article with
us in it. I also still have the envelope that
Fat Fanny's paid us with for the costume contest.
